A pedestrian was seriously injured and a dog killed in a collision involving a tractor-trailer in Arthur on Thursday.
Wellington County OPP say the incident happened around noon at Highway 6 and Frederick Street East. A northbound tractor-trailer was turning right onto Frederick Street when it struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road with their dog.
The pedestrian was airlifted to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roads in the immediate area were temporarily closed but were expected to reopen shortly after.
Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.
