A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in downtown Ottawa on Monday afternoon.
Ottawa Paramedic Service responded to the intersection of Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue at 5:40 p.m. after reports that a person was hit near a crosswalk. A woman in her 20s was transported to the hospital with multiple serious injuries.
The Ottawa Police Service has closed the intersection for investigation, and the public is being asked to avoid the area.
Update – On Tuesday, Ottawa police disclose that the woman has died from her injuries.
