A man was killed after being struck by a car in Sarnia late Saturday night. The incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on East Street North.

When police arrived, they found the 32-year-old man on the road, and two off-duty nurses were already performing CPR. Emergency responders and Sarnia fire crews took over the life-saving efforts, but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, which was traveling south on East Street just north of Cameron Street, stopped and remained at the location. The road was temporarily closed for investigation but has since reopened. Police continue to investigate the incident.
