A male pedestrian has died after being struck by a transport truck on Highway 400 in North York on Saturday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say the collision occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Finch Avenue, forcing the closure of the highway for nearly six hours while investigators examined the scene.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the transport truck driver remained at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.

Investigators do not suspect foul play. The northbound lanes reopened just before 3 p.m., while the investigation into the fatal collision continues.
