A pedestrian was seriously hurt after being struck in a hit-and-run incident in downtown Toronto on Sunday evening. The crash occurred near the intersection of Queen’s Park Crescent and St. Joseph Street, just south of Bloor Street West.
Police responded to the scene at about 8:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian. The driver fled before officers arrived. The injured person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators are searching for a dark grey, newer-model SUV believed to be involved. As a result of the investigation, northbound Queen’s Park Crescent remains closed at St. Joseph Street, and drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
