A man in his 30s was critically injured when he was struck by a car while crossing Queen Street near Jones Avenue in Toronto’s Leslieville neighbourhood, just before midnight on Monday. Surveillance footage from a nearby business shows the pedestrian in the crosswalk when a white sedan, turning left from Jones Avenue onto Queen Street, hit him and drove off.

Toronto police confirmed the vehicle did not stay at the scene. No description of the driver or car has been provided. Authorities are urging the responsible individual to come forward. Const. Cindy Chung expressed the gravity of the situation, asking the driver to turn themselves in, emphasizing the severity of leaving someone injured.

The victim was rushed to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries. Investigators are also seeking dashcam footage from anyone who might have been in the area at the time of the incident.
