Thunder Bay police are investigating a serious collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in the city’s north end Thursday evening.
According to a police news release, officers were called to Cumberland Street North just before 8:00 p.m. on Dec. 11. A portion of the roadway was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
The pedestrian was taken by emergency medical services to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and is reported to be in serious condition.
Police said the crash scene was cleared and the affected section of road reopened to traffic around 1 a.m. Friday.
The Thunder Bay Police Service traffic unit continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision. No additional details about the cause or the vehicle involved have been released.
