A 33-year-old resident of Pembroke is facing multiple charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash on Feb. 8.
Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision that evening, where witnesses indicated one of the drivers had fled. Police later found the vehicle and its driver in a parking lot at the Pembroke Marina, where the individual was taken into custody and brought to the detachment.
Krystle Chartrand has been charged under the Criminal Code, the Highway Traffic Act, and the Liquor Licence and Control Act. The allegations include failing or refusing to comply with a demand, motor vehicle theft, having care or control of a vehicle with an open container of alcohol, driving while suspended, and stunt driving.
The accused received a 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded. A court appearance is scheduled for March 3.
