A 49-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck early Wednesday morning in Toronto.
Police say the collision happened just before 6:45 a.m. on St. Clair Avenue West near Bathurst Street, close to Casa Loma. A 65-year-old man driving a black Dodge Ram westbound reportedly hit the pedestrian as he crossed the street.
The driver remained at the scene, and police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to contact investigators.
