A driver is facing charges after a collision between a pickup truck and an LRT train in Kitchener caused transit disruptions and road closures Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 11 a.m. at King Street West near Louisa Street, involving an ION light rail train and a pickup truck. Images from the scene showed significant damage to both vehicles, with the train knocked off the tracks and airbags deployed in the truck.

Police initially reported minor injuries to the driver but later confirmed that no injuries resulted from the incident.
