Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an alleged robbery in which a man was reportedly dragged by a vehicle before his backpack and sweater were stolen.
Police were notified around 7:10 p.m. Saturday after a witness spotted a shirtless man hiding among trees near Meaford Drive and Chelford Crescent. The man was seen crawling across a front lawn and told the witness he had been robbed and was searching for his missing belongings before leaving the area.
Investigators determined that the victim had been dragged along Meaford Drive by a white, four-door hatchback. During an altercation, an unidentified suspect reportedly got out of the vehicle and took the man’s backpack and sweater.
Police describe the victim as a white man between 35 and 40 years old with a heavy build. He was reportedly wearing a brown hoodie, blue jeans, and white and dark blue shoes.
The investigation is ongoing.
