A 35-year-old resident of the Town of Deep River is facing impaired driving charges after a vehicle was found in a ditch earlier this month.

Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP responded on Feb. 7 to reports of a single-vehicle incident along Highway 17 in the Town of Laurentian Hills. Upon arrival, police conducted a roadside screening test and transported the driver to the detachment for additional testing.

As a result of the investigation, Sheehan Laroche has been charged with impaired operation, operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, and driving without insurance.

The accused received a 90-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Laroche was later released and is scheduled to appear in court on March 3.
