A 52-year-old man from Tiny Township is facing over a dozen charges after a series of alleged vehicle thefts and collisions that ended with his arrest in Wasaga Beach on Sunday.

Ontario Provincial Police began receiving reports around 1:30 p.m. of a stolen white Honda CR-V in Penetanguishene, followed by the theft of a Ford F-250 in Innisfil roughly an hour later. The suspect then reportedly drove to Wasaga Beach, where he fled the scenes of two crashes.

Officers later located him on Bells Park Avenue, where he allegedly crashed into a police cruiser and a nearby home. One officer was injured in the incident and was treated in hospital before being released. Police are also investigating the crash for possible impaired driving.

The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including vehicle theft, impaired and dangerous driving causing bodily harm, assaulting a peace officer, and driving while prohibited. He remained in custody pending a bail hearing in Barrie on Monday.
