Durham Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a man in critical condition following an e-scooter crash in Ajax on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Kitney Drive, north of Clements Road West, when the rider lost control of his Segway Ninebot Kick Scooter Max G2, fell, and struck his head. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
The man was airlifted to a trauma center in Toronto and remains unconscious, in life-threatening condition. With no identification found on him, police have been unable to determine his identity.
Descriptions of the man include being a white male, aged 45-60, approximately six feet tall, 220 pounds, with a bald head and scruffy grey beard. He was last seen wearing dark green corduroy shorts, prescription glasses, a faded black baseball cap with “Pinewood Toronto Studios” on it, and black Reebok shoes.

Update – On Friday September 20th, police confirms that the e-scooter rider has died in hospital. Although police were able to identify him, his name has not been released to public.
