North Bay police were forced to shoot a dog after it aggressively attacked multiple people on Main Street East on April 19.
Officers responded to reports of a large, aggressive dog attacking residents inside an apartment at around 12:30pm. A resident managed to restrain the dog and bring it outside, but it broke free and began attacking police officers.
Officers used pepper spray, but it had little effect. When the dog attacked another individual, police opened fire. The animal was later euthanized by a veterinarian.
One person was taken to hospital for dog bite injuries and has since been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
