A 42-year-old man from Quebec is facing multiple charges after an incident involving police vehicles on Highway 401 in eastern Ontario.

Provincial police say the situation began when officers tried to stop a blue sedan that failed to pull over. During the attempted stop, the driver allegedly collided with two police cruisers. No injuries were reported.

The accused, from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, now faces several charges, including four counts of assaulting police with a weapon, along with allegations of fleeing officers, obstructing police, dangerous and impaired driving, mischief, and drug possession.

Investigators say officers seized about 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine at the time of arrest.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Brockville on Tuesday.
