A peace officer with the Legislative Protective Service at Queen’s Park has died following a motor vehicle collision over the weekend.
Ontario Legislative Assembly Speaker Donna Skelly identified the officer as Joshua Camacho. Details about the collision, including where and how it happened, have not been released.
Camacho had worked at Queen’s Park for three years. Skelly described him as a dedicated and professional member of the protective service and said he would be deeply missed by colleagues, family and friends.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford also expressed his condolences, acknowledging the work of the officers responsible for protecting Queen’s Park and offering support to Camacho’s colleagues during the difficult time.
