A triplex on Lloyd Street in Greater Sudbury suffered extensive damage from a fire late Thursday night. Fire crews responded around 10:45 p.m. to find the front of the building engulfed in flames. The fire began on the porch and spread inside through an open window.
All residents made it out safely, but three cats died in the fire. Crews from five stations were involved in battling the blaze. The cause is not considered suspicious, though it’s unclear if the unit had working smoke alarms.
One resident received temporary housing assistance from the Red Cross. The estimated damage is approximately $250,000.
