Fire crews are still on site following an early-morning house fire in Scarborough. Toronto Fire says crews were called to Shallowford Court, near Midland and Steeles avenues, around 3:40 a.m. after reports of smoke. Firefighters arrived to find flames and heavy black smoke coming from the roof.

The blaze caused structural damage to the home, with officials noting the floor has been compromised, though ventilation has been established. All residents escaped without injury, and TTC buses were brought in to provide shelter for those displaced. A fire watch remains in place.
