A Hamilton home was damaged in an early-morning fire that police say was intentionally started.
Emergency crews were called to a residence on Princess Street near Birch Avenue at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. Everyone inside the home managed to get out safely, and no injuries were reported.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which caused an estimated $3,000 to $5,000 in property damage.
Police say surveillance footage captured a suspect approaching the residence before the fire and leaving the area afterward, heading west on Princess Street.
The suspect was reportedly wearing a light-coloured hoodie, dark pants and dark footwear, and was carrying a cross-body bag.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area around the time of the fire to contact police.
