A 29-year-old woman from Ridgetown died following a two-car crash near Thamesville, Ontario, on Thursday morning. The collision occurred on Longwoods Road, between Wallace Street and Pitt Road.

According to Chatham-Kent Police, both vehicles involved had one occupant. The woman, seriously injured, was taken to Four Counties Hospital in Newbury, where she later died from her injuries.

The other driver, a 29-year-old man from Thamesville, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Chatham.

The Traffic Management Unit has taken over the investigation due to the seriousness of the crash. The road was closed for several hours but has since reopened. The Chatham-Kent Police Service has expressed condolences to those affected by the tragic incident.
