A pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 11 in North Bay on Saturday morning.

The collision occurred around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 11 and Trout Lake Road. Ontario Provincial Police, along with North Bay Fire and Emergency Services and paramedics, responded to the scene.

According to the OPP, the pedestrian was engaged in roadside solicitation when they entered a live lane of traffic while vehicles had the right of way. The individual was hit by a pickup truck and sustained a head injury before fleeing the scene.

A canine unit was deployed, and the injured person was quickly located at a nearby restaurant. After being assessed by paramedics, they were transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The OPP has stated that the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
