A 74-year-old woman has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 17 in Sudbury early Monday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
The collision occurred around 1 a.m. near the Highway 17 bypass. Two people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries. Police confirmed Tuesday that the woman, who was from Sault Ste. Marie, later succumbed to life-threatening injuries.
Highway 17 was closed for approximately nine hours while officers investigated the scene. OPP technical collision investigation and reconstruction teams are assisting as police continue to determine the cause of the crash.
