Ontario Provincial Police are trying to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga on New Year’s day.
Investigators say the incident occurred around 5:45 a.m. Thursday in the eastbound collector lanes near Dixie Road. A 32-year-old woman from Scarborough, identified as Quenessa Caesar-West, fell from a moving vehicle and was subsequently hit by another car, resulting in fatal injuries.
Police believe the driver who struck the woman may not have realized what had happened at the time but are seeking to speak with them to complete the investigation and provide closure.
The vehicle involved is believed to be a light-coloured, sedan-style Toyota or Nissan and may have damage to the front driver’s side. Anyone with information is asked to contact OPP.
