A 77-year-old man has died after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross Highway 404 in Richmond Hill on Saturday morning. The incident occurred on the southbound lanes near Highway 7 just before 9 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the incident is not yet clear, and police closed the highway for several hours as they investigated.
