A collision in North York on Sunday afternoon left three pedestrians and a driver hospitalized. The incident occurred in the Willowdale neighborhood, near Yonge Street and Churchill Avenue, just south of Finch Avenue.
Toronto police responded to the scene shortly before 3:30 p.m. after reports of multiple pedestrians being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found the victims, who were then transported to the hospital via trauma run.
The driver, operating a Volvo station wagon, remained at the scene but also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. Toronto paramedics confirmed they transported four adult patients, with three being taken to a trauma center—two in critical condition and one with serious injuries. The fourth person was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
As of now, Yonge Street is closed between Northtown Way and McKee Avenue, while Churchill Avenue is shut down from Canterbury Place to Yonge. Church Avenue is also closed between Yonge and Doris Avenue as police continue their investigation.
The situation remains under investigation.
