Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a serious single-vehicle crash that occurred late Saturday afternoon on Highway 115 in Pontypool, between Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough.
The collision happened in the southbound lanes, leading to a full closure of the highway at Porter Road. One person sustained life-threatening injuries. Police advised motorists to avoid the area, warning that the closure would remain in place for an extended period during the investigation.
Update – On Sunday, police confirmed the victim — a 39-year-old woman from Bowmanville — had been thrown from her motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The affected section of Highway 115 has since reopened.
