A serious crash shut down both directions of Highway 69 north of Britt in Parry Sound District early Wednesday morning. The collision happened before 7 a.m., closing the stretch between Forest Access Road and Beckanon Road for several hours.

Two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to Ontario Provincial Police. The highway reopened shortly before 2 p.m., and investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash or whether any charges will be laid.
