A 62-year-old motorcyclist from Niagara Falls has died following a collision with a pickup truck in Thorold, just south of St. Catharines. The crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, at the intersection of Highway 58 and Thorold Stone Road.
Emergency responders, including an Ornge air ambulance, were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck, who was alone in the vehicle, was uninjured and remained at the scene.
The area was closed for about five hours to allow for investigation and cleanup. No charges have been laid, and the Ontario Provincial Police say the investigation is ongoing.
