Orillia OPP are asking for the public’s help following a major crash on Horseshoe Valley Road late Friday evening.

Police say the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Horseshoe Valley Road between Line 5 North and Line 6 North, where a van and an SUV collided head-on. The SUV driver and two children were taken to hospital, with the driver and one child later airlifted to a regional trauma centre due to serious injuries.

The van driver also suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma centre. Two other children in the van were assessed and treated for minor injuries.

The collision forced the closure of Line 5 North and Line 6 North for several hours overnight into Saturday morning. Both roads have since reopened. Investigators are urging anyone who saw the crash or has dash camera footage from the area to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
