Several people were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash in Greater Sudbury on Wednesday evening.
Greater Sudbury Police say the collision happened on Elm Street between Big Nickel Mine Road and the Lasalle Extension shortly before 6 p.m. Several passenger vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police reported around 6:30 p.m. that those involved had suffered serious injuries. Elm Street was closed as officers and investigators remained at the scene, and authorities warned the roadway could remain shut down for several hours.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
