A section of Dufferin Street in Toronto was closed Wednesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision that left one vehicle overturned.

Toronto police said the crash happened around 11:40 a.m. near the intersection of Queen Street West and Dufferin Street. One of the vehicles involved flipped onto its side during the collision.

Authorities have not confirmed whether any injuries were sustained, though an officer at the scene said the driver of the overturned vehicle was taken to hospital for assessment.

One witness says he was waiting at a nearby crosswalk when the vehicles collided in the intersection. He approached the overturned car and said the driver appeared alert and signalled that they were okay. The occupants of the second vehicle, believed to be an Uber, also appeared unharmed, according to the witness.

Southbound lanes of Dufferin Street are closed at Peel Avenue while emergency crews responded and investigated.
