A fatal collision on a rural road north of Clinton is under investigation by provincial police. Huron County OPP said the crash occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday on Base Line Road in Central Huron, between Lobb Road and Dutch Line, when a pickup truck and a van collided.
The van was carrying four people: an adult man, an adult woman, and two children. The driver remains in hospital with serious injuries, while the children were treated for minor harm. A 38-year-old woman from Exeter who was travelling in the van later died from her injuries. Her identity has not been made public.
The affected section of Base Line Road has since reopened. Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has video footage to contact Huron County OPP or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
