Recent winter weather has caused multiple crashes along Highway 400 and in Barrie, with snow and slippery conditions contributing to several collisions.

Barrie Fire reported responding to six separate crashes Saturday morning around 9 a.m., including incidents near McKay Road, Essa Road, and Mapleview Drive. Fortunately, injuries appeared to be minor, and all scenes have since been cleared as road conditions improve.

These incidents follow a major crash less than 24 hours earlier. On Friday evening, Barrie Fire crews attended a 10-vehicle collision at the Highway 400 and Highway 11 split, also linked to poor weather and significant overnight snowfall in the area.
