Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating a collision involving an OPP cruiser and another vehicle during a police pursuit in North York early Thursday.
The crash occurred shortly after midnight near the intersection of Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West. According to the SIU, officers were pursuing a stolen vehicle when the collision happened.
The woman driving the other vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The SIU has invoked its mandate to investigate the incident.
The intersection, which was temporarily closed while investigators examined the scene, has since reopened.
