A weekend collision in Kingston involving a marked police cruiser has prompted an investigation by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which is now asking witnesses to come forward.
The crash occurred at about 9:40 a.m. Saturday near Brock and Victoria streets when a Kingston police cruiser, responding to a call, collided with a Subaru. A 70-year-old woman driving the Subaru suffered serious injuries, while her passenger was also taken to hospital.
The SIU has assigned three investigators and a collision reconstruction specialist to examine the incident. One police officer has been designated as the subject official. Investigators are asking anyone with information, photos, or video related to the crash to contact the SIU.
