The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has launched an investigation into an incident in Ingersoll over the weekend.
Oxford County OPP officers attempted a traffic stop around 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Highway 401, but the driver reportedly fled the scene. Shortly after, police were notified of a single-vehicle crash on Canterbury Street in Ingersoll. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The OPP has informed the SIU, which has taken over the investigation, meaning the OPP will no longer release additional details.
