The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is investigating a crash that left two people were injured on Highway 69 south of Sudbury late Tuesday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police say officers from the Nipissing West detachment encountered a vehicle of interest around 10:30 a.m. Police deployed a tire-deflation device, after which the black vehicle lost control and crashed. The crash occurred on Highway 69 between the Killarney and Estaire exits, near Murdoch River Road.
One person was airlifted to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the second was transported by ambulance.
The circumstances that led officers to stop and engage with the vehicle have not been disclosed.
