An Ontario driver has been charged with reckless driving after a collision linked to reaching for a snack. According to Wellington County OPP, officers were called to the scene of an accident around 8 a.m. near Guelph-Eramosa Township. Upon investigation, they determined the driver veered across the center line, crashing into a tree in the opposite lane.

The driver, a 51-year-old from Guelph, told police they lost control of the vehicle while reaching for a banana. As a result, the driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The individual has been charged with careless driving.

Police have not released additional details about the driver but emphasized the importance of staying focused on the road while driving.
