Ontario Provincial Police have charged a driver with stunt driving after they were caught speeding past a collision scene on Highway 417 near Almonte on Tuesday. The driver involved in the initial crash was not seriously injured, police reported. However, another motorist was stopped after being clocked at 151 km/h in the area and charged with stunt driving.

The charged driver faces an automatic 30-day licence suspension, a 14-day vehicle impound, and potential consequences including a minimum $2,000 fine, a one-year driving ban, and six demerit points upon conviction.

The OPP is reminding drivers to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks to ensure everyone’s safety.
