A 59-year-old is facing multiple charges following an alleged intimate partner violence incident in East Ferris early Friday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a residence shortly after midnight on June 12 alongside paramedics, where they located a victim suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

Investigators allege the suspect assaulted their intimate partner before leaving the scene in a pickup truck. Police later located the vehicle after it was involved in a collision with a parked vehicle.

The accused has been charged with aggravated assault, spousal assault with a weapon, impaired driving, dangerous driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, possession of a weapon, unlawfully entering a dwelling, mischief exceeding $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.

The individual remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay. Police also confirmed the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the pickup truck was impounded for seven days.
