Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a vehicle fire that followed a collision with a deer on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent over the weekend.
The incident occurred Saturday morning in the eastbound lanes near Hetherington Road, with officers responding around 8:40 a.m. after an SUV struck a deer. The collision was followed by a vehicle fire, prompting assistance from Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue and resulting in a temporary highway closure.
No injuries to vehicle occupants were reported, and police have not laid any charges in connection with the incident.
