A small SUV crashed into a home in London early Monday morning, causing significant damage and prompting an ongoing police investigation.

The homeowners, living at Portland Street and Goldwick Crescent, were awakened around 3 a.m. by the sound of crashing glass. Upon rushing to their living room, they found it filled with smoke, along with smashed furniture and cabinets. Outside, they discovered that the SUV had jumped the curb, plowed through their brick garden, and crashed directly into their living room.

Multiple neighbors reported seeing one or two individuals fleeing the scene shortly after the crash, with some mentioning hearing speeding vehicles. The homeowners confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle when it hit their home.

Although no injuries were reported, the damage to the residence is extensive. London police later confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen, and the driver did not remain at the scene.

A restoration crew was on-site to secure the structure while a special constable police cruiser maintained the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
