A 16-year-old boy from Puslinch Township has died after being struck by a minivan in Centre Wellington early Saturday.
Wellington County OPP and paramedics were called to Wellington Road 29, south of the Eramosa-Garafraxa Town Line, shortly after midnight following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Police say the teenager was hit by a northbound minivan. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The minivan driver stayed at the scene and was not injured.
Investigators have not yet determined what led to the collision. Wellington Road 29 was temporarily closed while emergency crews and police examined the scene, but the road has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing.
