A deliberately set fire in Windsor has displaced 10 people and caused an estimated $850,000 in damage. The blaze broke out around 5 p.m. Monday on the 900 to 1100 block of Campbell Avenue, affecting three homes.
A chimney collapse occurred during the fire, prompting officials to advise nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Windsor Police are holding the scene overnight for the arson unit’s investigation. A suspect was seen on the property shortly before the fire. He is described as an Asian male with a dark complexion, medium build, wearing an orange coat and hat, and was last seen fleeing on a bicycle.
Police are urging local residents and businesses to check their security or dashcam footage for potential evidence.
