Three men were hospitalized after a crash involving a school bus and three pick-up trucks in Ottawa’s rural south end on Monday morning. The collision occurred on Mitch Owens Road, near Manotick Station Road, shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Emergency crews responded to the crash, which involved four vehicles, including a head-on collision between a pick-up truck and the school bus. Two pick-up trucks were heavily damaged, and one was in a ditch with two unresponsive passengers. Firefighters extricated the passengers and assessed their condition. The driver of the other damaged truck was trapped, and it took firefighters 30 minutes to remove him using specialized tools.

The men involved, aged 20-22, were taken to the hospital. One man was in critical condition, another in serious condition, and the driver of the third truck in stable condition. The school bus driver was treated at the scene and released.

Police are seeking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to assist in their investigation. Mitch Owens Road was closed for the investigation.
