A 22-year-old Burlington man is in critical condition after a serious two-vehicle collision in Milton on Tuesday evening. The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Regional Road 25 when a southbound transport truck collided with a northbound SUV, according to Halton police.

After the impact, the transport truck veered into a west ditch, hitting a southbound pickup truck. The pickup then struck a hydro pole, which snapped and became lodged in the tractor trailer’s windshield. Both southbound vehicles came to rest in the ditch.

The SUV driver was rushed to a trauma centre with critical injuries, while the 70-year-old truck driver and the 23-year-old pickup driver were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Regional Road 25 between Henderson Road and Lower Base Line was closed overnight for investigation and reopened early Wednesday. Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 905-825-4747, ext. 5065.
