Following a vehicle collision with two Ministry of Transportation (MTO) blocker trucks on Highway 401 in Scarborough, three people were hospitalized, one of whom suffered critical injuries. The trucks were positioned in active lanes near Meadowvale Road to provide protection for an earlier incident when they were impacted.
The three individuals in the passenger vehicle are now reported to be in stable condition. The MTO pickup truck was not occupied, and the driver of the second MTO truck was not injured. The westbound collector lanes experienced a brief closure but have since reopened. Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash, and no charges have been announced.
