Three people were taken to hospital after a collision involving two SUVs in Innisfil on Saturday evening, according to South Simcoe police.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Sideroad and 6th Line. When emergency crews arrived, they found a silver Hyundai SUV and a red Ford SUV in a ditch on the west side of the intersection.

Police said the Hyundai was occupied only by its driver, while the Ford had three people inside and overturned during the collision.

A passenger in the Ford suffered serious injuries, while a child sustained minor injuries. Both were transported to hospital. The Hyundai driver also received hospital care after sustaining minor injuries.

The collision prompted the closure of 10th Sideroad at 6th Line as officers investigated and emergency crews cleared the scene.

South Simcoe police say the investigation is ongoing.
