The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has launched an investigation after a crash involving a police cruiser and an SUV in St. Clair Township. The collision occurred around 4:20 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Kimball Road.
Emergency crews, including police, fire and paramedics, responded to the scene. Two members of the Lambton County OPP Mobile Crisis Response Team — an officer and a crisis worker — were inside the cruiser at the time. Both they and the SUV driver were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Road closures were put in place to allow investigators to examine the scene. Petrolia Line was shut down between Tecumseh Road and Waubuno Road, while Kimball Road was closed from Rokeby Line to LaSalle Line.
